Seth Magden is an accomplished disaster recovery professional, with experience in project management, business development, and strategic relationship management for public, private, and non-profit sectors. Seth began his career as a FEMA IA inspector working across Southeast Louisiana following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Shifting into the non-profit sector, Seth worked as a construction lead site supervisor with Habitat for Humanity, building homes in New Orleans, St. Bernard, and Jefferson Parish. Most recently, Seth was part of the core GCR team that supported the State of Louisiana in response to the Great Floods of 2016, and was responsible for planning and logistics for both rounds of public meetings across the state. Seth’s other recent work with GCR includes serving as project manager for the State of California and Shelby County, Tennessee, leading GCR’s team that supported their efforts related to HUD’s National Disaster Resilience Competition. Seth is also currently supporting the State of Louisiana on the LA SAFE initiative as a Parish Captain for Jefferson Parish and St. Tammany Parish. Prior to joining GCR, Seth worked in Louisiana and New York on Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs, performing benefit cost analyses for the New York State Dept. of Homeland Security and Emergency Services and coordinating funding between FEMA and HUD recovery programs for the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery.
