In 2010, GCR Inc. (GCR) was retained by the Office of Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) for the State of Louisiana to provide turnkey program management and real estate services including property ownership identification, title abstracting, GIS mapping, permitting, appraisals, surveys, negotiations, relocations under the Uniform Relocation Act, utility relocations, coordination with railroad interests, and any other real estate related services as determined necessary by CPRA. Since contract inception, GCR has developed a solid, professional relationship with CPRA representatives, supporting task orders and coordinating with both federal and non-federal interests.
GCR is providing professional land services for the acquisition of land rights required for construction, operation, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and replacement of features for federal hurricane protection and coastal restoration projects. Task deliverables include project work area maps, preparation of tract plat maps and legal descriptions, title research, abstracts of title, appraisals, just compensation offers, negotiations with landowners, recordation of sales and servitude agreements, rights of entry, and tax and mortgage certificates.
GCR supports a variety of projects including the West Bank and Vicinity Mississippi River Levees – Engineered Alternative Measures, Resilient Features and Armoring, Bayou Bonfouca Marsh Creation Project (PO-14), South Lake Lery Shoreline and Marsh Creation Project (BS-16), Biloxi Marsh Shoreline Protection Project (PO-72), Bayou DuPont Marsh and Ridge Creation Project (BA-48), Shell Island East Berm Enhancement Project (BA-110), East Timbalier Island Restoration Project (TE-0118), and Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion Project (BA-0153).
