GCR Welcomes Aviation Talent, Signals New Approach to Market

GCR Inc. (GCR), a New Orleans-based technology and professional services firm, welcomed new additions to their Aviation team in the second quarter.

Spencer Stewart, a seasoned sales executive working most recently in the government services space, joined GCR as the Director of Sales, Aviation. Long admired for his market insight and client focus, Stewart brings a fresh perspective to our AirportIQ suite with special attention to the highly anticipated release of AirportIQ Business and Revenue Manager (ABRM).

“Our aviation team consists almost exclusively of ex-industry aviation experts. That model has served GCR well and our successful implementations have always spoken for themselves. Spencer, however, represents a shift in our approach from organic to strategic selling. With Product Managers maintaining a singular focus on client satisfaction, we are excited to see where more dedicated sales efforts will take us,” says Tim Walsh, Direct of Aviation Services. Stewart echoed Walsh. “GCR’s depth of aviation experience is impressive. Partnering with them offers so much potential and I’m pleased to be part of their growth.”

The Aviation team’s second addition is Matt Batina, a Business Analyst (BA) who joined GCR in 2013. As a BA, Batina spent years interviewing clients and industry consultants to better understand airport business processes and software application needs. From this information, he developed critical specifications for process implementation and web and mobile application development. He also coordinated with business and development teams to ensure the deliverable fully met client specifications.

“Matt became very valuable to us, and the insight he gained during his time as a BA needed to stay with aviation and be capitalized on,” explains Walsh. Batina was promoted to Product Manager over AirportIQ’s Safety Management System (SMS). His response to the change was positive. “I’ve felt at home with the aviation team since day one; this is a natural shift for me, and I’m confident in managing our SMS efforts moving forward.”
