GCR Welcomes Aviation Talent, Signals New Approach to Market

GCR Welcomes Aviation Talent, Signals New Approach to Market
June 12, 2017
New Orleans, LA

GCR Inc. (GCR), a New Orleans-based technology and professional services firm, welcomed new additions to their Aviation team in the second quarter.

Spencer Stewart, a seasoned sales executive working most recently in the government services space, joined GCR as the Director of Sales, Aviation. Long admired for his market insight and client focus, Stewart brings a fresh perspective to our AirportIQ suite with special attention to the highly anticipated release of AirportIQ Business and Revenue Manager (ABRM).

“Our aviation team consists almost exclusively of ex-industry aviation experts. That model has served GCR well and our successful implementations have always spoken for themselves. Spencer, however, represents a shift in our approach from organic to strategic selling. With Product Managers maintaining a singular focus on client satisfaction, we are excited to see where more dedicated sales efforts will take us,” says Tim Walsh, Direct of Aviation Services. Stewart echoed Walsh. “GCR’s depth of aviation experience is impressive. Partnering with them offers so much potential and I’m pleased to be part of their growth.”

The Aviation team’s second addition is Matt Batina, a Business Analyst (BA) who joined GCR in 2013. As a BA, Batina spent years interviewing clients and industry consultants to better understand airport business processes and software application needs. From this information, he developed critical specifications for process implementation and web and mobile application development. He also coordinated with business and development teams to ensure the deliverable fully met client specifications.

“Matt became very valuable to us, and the insight he gained during his time as a BA needed to stay with aviation and be capitalized on,” explains Walsh. Batina was promoted to Product Manager over AirportIQ’s Safety Management System (SMS). His response to the change was positive. “I’ve felt at home with the aviation team since day one; this is a natural shift for me, and I’m confident in managing our SMS efforts moving forward.”

New Orleans-based technology and professional services firm GCR Inc. (GCR) is growing in 2017.

Tod Yankee joins the AirportIQ Business and Revenue Manager (ABRM) team as it prepares to release the latest version of its popular software. Yankee, who has served the aviation industry as a consultant for over a decade, started his career in Airport Business and Leasing at both Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and Massachusetts Port Authority. His experience will help the ABRM team release their market-tested revenue management update later this year.

Robert “Bob” Bryant is the newest member to join the FAA and State Aviation teams. Bryant has worked a 30-year career in airport management, most recently as Airport Director of Wicomico Regional Airport, serving as principal representative to the Commission. Bryant carries his expertise into the classroom where he teaches Airport Planning and Management at the collegiate level. GCR’s FAA team has decades of experience as the chosen provider for compliance and reporting solutions for Part 139 inspections, the National Based Aircraft Inventory, and the Airport Master Record safety inspections, all of which Bryant will contribute to. He will also serve as the point of contact for all AirportIQ System Manager (ASM) clients.

“Our Project Managers are critical. They tailor support to each airport and push our products to mitigate risk, improve efficiencies, and drive profitability. I’ve been very impressed by both Tod and Bob’s work over the years. I know our clients will appreciate their dedication and we will all benefit from their combined expertise,” said Timothy Walsh, Director of Aviation Services. GCR’s AirportIQ platform is an integrated suite of software products that help manage your airport, comply with federal regulations, and access critical information needed for data-driven decisions. The suite expanded in 2016 to include two new products: Safety Management System (SMS) and Runway Condition Assessment (RCA). In addition to the ABRM update, the Aviation Team will launch an additional two products in 2017.

GCR Inc. launches AirportIQ Safety Management System

NEW ORLEANS, LA. MAY 10, 2016 – GCR Inc. (GCR), a New Orleans-based technology and professional services company, proudly expands its AirportIQ suite of aviation industry software solutions with the launch of AirportIQ Safety Management System (SMS). AirportIQ SMS offers airports a flexible, easy-to-use process that guides risk management in accordance with FAA regulations and allows airport staff, tenants, and the public to work together to report and mitigate safety issues.

AirportIQ SMS was built with input from leading airport operations professionals, airport risk managers and GCR safety experts who have been creating airport operational safety software for over 15 years. With AirportIQ SMS, users from any airport department can collaborate to triage, track, and analyze safety issues. Incident trends can be evaluated and corrective actions can be developed, all while staying in compliance with FAA guidelines.

Matt Batina, product manager, stresses the dual benefits that AirportIQ SMS brings to an airport: “AirportIQ SMS is the software that airports need to jumpstart and stay in a position of compliance with the FAA. It is a powerful tool that provides all the information needed to identify safety trends, keep full audit trails of all reported issues, and show the proactive effort being made to manage risk.”

AirportIQ SMS follows the FAA Advisory Circular 150/5200-37A: Safety Management Systems for Airports and is able to integrate with AirportIQ Airport Safety & Operations Compliance System (ASOCS) and other FAA Part 139 and event management software. It provides a central point of operational safety monitoring, risk management, and compliance for your airport.

AirportIQ Safety Management System will be unveiled by the GCR aviation team at the 88th annual AAAE Conference in Houston on Tuesday, May 17. Tim Walsh, GCR’s Director of Aviation Services, will be the featured speaker for the “Risk Management and Safety Assurance with AirportIQ in a time of Regulatory Uncertainty” session being held at 9 a.m. in Innovation Theater 1. The AirportIQ team will also be set up in the exhibit hall during the conference. Please stop by booth 920 for more information.

AirportIQ World Users Conference moves to 2016

GCR is moving this year’s AirportIQ World Users Conference to early 2016. If you have already registered for the 2015 conference, we will be contacting you shortly.

For many years AirportIQ World has been an annual focus for users of AirportIQ Business Manager, ASOCS, and our other aviation products to learn and network among colleagues. In addition to aviation, GCR also has IQ solutions in energy, government technology, elections, disaster management, land services, and community planning.

GCR is a growing and evolving company. In recent years we are seeing our different market segments’ hard boundaries blur as we find that software solutions we began in one industry find uses in another. With this in mind, GCR is launching the GCR WORLD 2016 conference in April.

GCR WORLD 2016 will offer:

gcr-world-logo-01• A bigger and better meeting, with more attendees, more information and more collaboration options with better amenities
